A Little About Me

My name is Lene Cecilie, but my friends call me “Lenski” (hence my photographer name). I am 29 years old. Born in Norway, raised in the Philippines — lived there for 12 years (more information on this below).

My family is the most important thing to me — I have major FOMO so wherever they go, I go. I love traveling and going on adventures. I don’t take myself too seriously, and I love a good laugh. I am obsessed with our family dog, her name is Irma — she’s a long haired chihuahua. I have recently picked up a new hobby: indoor climbing & bouldering.

I am a physiotherapist but long story short, I quickly realised the difference it makes when working with what you're passionate about when I started deep diving into photography — do what you love & you won’t feel like its work! I am however, working part-time as an assistant during “slow season”. I am currently settled in Bergen, Norway — but will gladly travel to your destination.

The Birth of Throughmylenski

I was gifted my first camera in 2017 & photographed my first wedding in 2020. My love for photography started out with self-portraits, but I later found a passion for couples photography when I found the love of my life in Bergen. I wanted to capture our love on camera to look back on in the future.

Getting “the shot” of my husband & I gave me so much joy. When I realized that a single photo could make me fall in love all over again, I knew that I wanted to give that same feeling to other couples. And that is when I started “ThroughMyLenski” — because there’s nothing better than seeing your love captured on camera, knowing it will always be there giving you the same feeling it did decades later.

Growing up in the Philippines

I moved to the Philippines when I was five years old — so naturally Asia is where I felt I belonged. I was surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, rich cultures, and vibrant traditions from a young age. From the stunning beaches to the lush mountain ranges, my home instilled in me a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world. But it wasn’t until I got older & started playing sports around southeast Asia where my love for travel began. Exploring new places, meeting diverse people, and experiencing different cultures — has truly shaped my perspective on life, and now as a destination photographer.

There’s so many beautiful countries & cultures that I have yet to visit & experience — so why not travel the world AND do what I love at the same time. There’s nothing more that gets my creative juices going than a new country & a madly in love couple in front of my lens.

So why am I telling you this? I am a strong believer that a good photographer doesn’t have to have photographed at your venue before, or even been to the country to take amazing photos — in fact this can even help your photographer be more creative.

However, it does help to have a photographer that thrives in the chaos of travel & sees the magic in everything around them with a fresh set of eyes.

So, if you want an epic wedding and a photographer who’s almost as excited about your wedding as you are — i’m your girl! I will hype you up, and help with anything I can to make your pre-wedding process less stressful. I had my own destination wedding, so I know how the pre-wedding stress can be intense but SO worth it in the end.

Our Wedding

We got married in Italy on our 5 year anniversary, March 30th, 2024.

We had an intimate wedding in Tuscany, at the most stunning farmhouse “Le Canterie.” We had 35 of our closest family & friends with us to witness us say “I do” with those classic tuscan hills as our backdrop. We had the most perfect wedding, and would do it all over again if we could! We did exactly what WE wanted to do — and could not have been happier with the outcome. Our wedding was everything we had hoped for — and more.

I will forever recommend planning a wedding that represents you as a couple & to make sure it is what you want & no one else. Doing what you want is the perfect recipe for your dream wedding. Having had my own wedding has helped motivate & inspire me even more as a destination wedding photographer. I will be using everything I have experienced & learnt as a bride into my weddings as a photographer.
